Cornouiller Quatre-Temps

El primer bloque lo cosi a maquina en zig-zag, pero decidi descoserlo y coserlo a punto feston con hilo de bordar, me gusta mas el acabado de esta manera, y a vosotras?
I used a zig-zag stitch for the first block, but I ended up ripping all the stitches and sewed a blanket stitch instead. I think it looks cute this way, don't you think?

Buena salida y entrada al 2012!. Os deseo un 2012 lleno de horas de costura!!!.

Me pregunto si habeis cosido mucho esta semana, o os habeis pasado el tiempo participando en los sorteos que organizan  The Quilting Gallery y Sew, Mama, Sew!. Si os preguntais lo que yo he hecho, pues os lo cuento, he cosido un poquitin, y he participado en bastantes sorteos. He descubierto blogs bastante interesantes, con unos tutoriales fantasticos, que ire hacienda poco a poco y os ire comentando.

En total he cosido 6 posavasos, las telas son todas retales de los ultimos quilts que he realizado.  Las telas traseras son japonesas, tienen unos tonos suaves y agradables a la vista.

I have sewn 6 coasters, all the fabrics are scraps. The fabrics I have used for the backing are japanese, they are very pleasing to the eye. 

Es un projecto rapido y me parece bastante resulton. Si os animais  aqui os dejo el enlace del tutorial. Si os apetece mandadme un e-mail con alguna fotillo, para ver que tal os han quedado.

Ya tengo quilt! I have my own quilt!

Por fin!. Perdon, hola antes de todo!

Me ha llevado su tiempo, pero ya lo tengo terminado!. Esta noche cuando todos se sienten en el sillon con su quilt, yo tambien tendre el mio!!! Yippei!.

Finally!, My quilt is finished! I can't wait to sit dowm tonight in my sofa with my new baby!.

Estoy encantada con el, sobre todo por los colores que he elegido, queria algo alegre, fuera de los colores normales del invierno, con luz!. Estoy enamoradisima de la tela del borde y del bies. Se nota que estoy contenta eh.

I am very pleased with the colours I have chosen. I wanted something different for the traditional winter colours, something fresher. I love the border and binding fabrics!.

El patron es una de las recetas de Moda Bakeshop. Perdonad por no daros el enlace, pero con el cambio de ordenador lo he perdido.

The pattern is one of the recipes from the Moda Bakeshop site. I have hand quilted most of it, I just added a kind of a wave on the outer border, to practice a bit of machine quilting.

He acolchado el quilt a mano alrededor de las estrellas y el borde. Y para practcar un poquitin mi acolchado a maquina, he acolchado el borde exterior con una especie de ola.

 

El hilo que he utilizado para acolchar es de algodon, y lo fabrica la empresa Metler. Es la primera vez que lo utilizo, y volvere a repetir, es especial para acolchado, mas grueso, y le da otro volumen al quilt.

I have used Metler quilting thread to quilt it. I will definitely used it again, it is thicker than the thread I normally use and it makes the quilting more effective in my opinion.

La tela trasera es rosita con unas flores en beige, creo que la foto no la hace justicia. Cuando la vi me encanto y compre bastantes metros, con lo que seguramente la vereis pronto en otro de mis quilts.

The backing fabric is pink with beige flowers, it is actually lovely, unfortunately the picture doesn't make it any justice.

Y como no podia ser menos, tenia que incluir la inicial de mi blog, con el que estoy aprendiendo tanto cada dia, y conociendo a gente con muchisimo talento en el mundo del patchwork y la costura en general.

I couldn't finished it without adding the initial of my blog, I am learning so much and meeting so many talented people in blogland that I have to included!, it is part of my life now!, ha, ha.

Beautes florissantes, bloque 1.

Hola,

     Como va la costura? Yo no he hecho muchos progresos esta semana por falta de tiempo. Ademas, al estar trabajando en distintos quilts en este momento y dedicando un poquitin de tiempo a cada uno, no veo mucho progreso en realidad. Pero yo sigo poniendo mi granito de arena en cada uno!.

     Este es el primer bloque de Beautes florissantes, es un sampler de la revista Magic Patch.

     How is your sewing going? I haven't got a lot of time to sew this week, I have just sewn a bit here and there, so,  not a lot of progress really. Anyway, I would like to show you my first block for my Beautes Florissantes sampler quilt, from the magazine Magic Patch.



Bouton D'Or

     En principio este quilt va a constar de 16 bloques (quizas 20), y voy a utilizar telas de mi cesta de retales (que necesita un poquito de espacio libre!). Mi objetivo es coser dos bloques al mes, con lo que si todo sale segun lo planificado tendre otro bloque que mostraros en un par de semanas.

     I haven't make up my mind about sewing 16 or 20 blocks, I might wait and see. I am only going to use fabrics from my scraps basket (it needs to be emptied badly), and the plan is to assemble two blocks per month. It sounds achievable, doesn't it?. I better go and do some sewing!.

     Os dejo, voy a ver si tengo tiempo para alguna puntadita,

Los ultimos bloques de Noviembre. The last blocks of November.

Hola,

     Esta semana no he avanzado mucho en mi Farmer's wife, mi objetivo era terminar al menos 6 bloques, y me he quedado en la mitad!. Aun asi estoy contenta, aun sigo teniendo muchos fallos, pero estoy aprendiendo muchisimo con este quilt.

     Hi!

     Well I haven't progress as much I would have loved to on my Farmer's wife, but on the other hand I am quite pleased with everything I am learning. I still have a long way to go, and so many areas to improved, but I am holding there!.

                    Entre bloque y bloque estoy acolchando un quilt a mano, que espero poder mostraros pronto.

     En mi  cesta de proyectos no cabe ninguno mas, con lo que he decidido terminarlos todos antes de empezar uno nuevo. Lo conseguire?

     This week I am also quilting a quilt, and made myself focus on all the projects that need to be finished! Not an easy task. I am trying not to start any new project, will I succeed?

FW Noviembre III. FW November III.

Hola!

     Por fin tengo mi maquina de coser en casita!. No creais que he estado aburrida sin ella, he cosido un poquito a mano, he organizado mis telas, y sobre todo he visitado una cantidad de blogs enorme!. La consecuencia es que ahora tengo una lista aun mas larga de tutoriales que me gustaria probar!.

     Y para dar la bienvenida a mi maquinita he cosido estos bloques,

     I have my sewing machine back!, I have been quite busy hand sewing, organising my material, and reading hundreds of blogs!. Consequence of this, I have a huge list of tutorials I would like to try! Is that a good thing?

5 Bat Wing

     Este ha sido una pesadilla, no he conseguido unir todos los puntos en el centro.  Despues de coser y descoser bastantes veces he decidido dejarlo estar, tendre que vivir con esta imperfeccion!, una mas en la lista!, je, je.

     This block has been an absolutely nightmare, I haven't managed to join the central points. After all the sewing, ripping stitches, headaches, ... I have decided to leave it as it is, I will have to live with this!.

The Knitting and Stitching Show

Hola,

     Hoy he pasado mi dia en la feria de el punto y la costura en Dublin! Ha sido una operacion militar!, tenia apuntado en un bloc todo lo que tenia que comprar, stands que queria visitar, ... y para mi sorpresa, me ha dado tiempo a todo!
     No os voy a mostrar mis compritas ( aun estan en una enorme bolsa), pero si quiero mostraros lo que mas me ha llamado la atencion de la feria, si os apetece verlo.

Y mi mala noticia es que antes de ayer, cuando estaba cosiendo tranquilamente este tapete,

And the bad news is that a couple of days ago, while I was sewing this,

mi maquina se rompio!. Os ha pasado alguna vez?. No pude articular palabra!.  Creo que ahora no tengo otro remedio que esperar a que la reparen, con lo que mi avance en el Farmer's wife no ha durado mucho!.

my sewing machine broke! Have that ever happened to you? I had no words! So, I don't think I will be sewing any block for a few days!, how cruel is that?.

Su primer bolso. Her first bag.

Hola,

     Este es el bolsito que he cosido para mi chiquitina, su primer bolso!.  Como os podeis imaginar lo he hecho con muchisima ilusion, he canbiado las telas de orden un millon de veces, cosido, descosido,.... el resultado final me agrada bastante, que os parece?

     I have made this bag for my baby girl, her first bag!, how cute is that?. I have been so happy sewing this bag, well, I have changed fabrics a few thousand times, sew. unsew, ... nevertheless I am quite please with the result.

     Como solo tiene 10 meses he eligido tonos suaves, aunque he incluido alguna telita un poco mas alegre para dar al bolsito un poquito de color.


     She is only 10 months old, so I have chosen mainly soft colours, I have included a few medium shade fabrics to spicy it up.

     El patron es de la revista Anna & Patchwork, no es un bolso dificil de realizar, pero si sois principiantes como yo, no se si encontrareis las instrucciones muy claras, especialmente el acabado de la cremallera y laterales. Es justo decir que es un bolso muy gracioso y coqueto.

     The pattern is from Anna & Patchwork (spanish magazine), I found it a bit unclear towards the end, specially for beginners like me!. But I have to say that it is a cute bag for a little girl.

Aqui os dejo los bloques de esta semana, tenia un par de bloques mas terminados, pero al plancharlos he visto un fallazo  fallito! Esta noche tenia pensado terminar un proyecto, pero me va a tocar desmontar los bloques y volver a coserlos, c'est la vie!.

He estado ocupada.... I have been busy........

... acolchando este quilt para mi chiquitin. Me ha llevado mas tiempo de lo esperado terminarlo, queria tenerlo listo para comienzos de verano!, pero en el ultimo momento decidi no acolcharlo solamente con lineas simples e incluir algun motivo bonito. Creo que ha quedado bastante gracioso, le da un poquito de vida a la tela trasera, ya que es lisa.

... quilting my little boy's quilt. It has taken me more than I thought to complete, as I changed my mind several times about the quilting, I thought straight lines would be too plain as the backing fabric is solid, then I was looking for several quilting patterns,... the usual!.

Hoy he tenido ayuda para hacer estas fotos, aunque mi asistente estaba mas interesado en subirse al arbol que otra cosa!.

Today I had my assistant helping me out with the photo shooting, unfortunately he was busier trying to climb the tree. It is very difficult to get the staff these days!.



     El video de como realizar este quilt lo podeis encontrar en Quilt in a day de Eleonor Burns. Tiene 12 bloques, he utilizado bastantes tipos de telas en cuatro tonalidades distintas, para el bies he utilizado la misma tela del borde exterior, que a su vez he utilizado como borde exterior de la trasera. La tela que veis en el centro del bloque tiene un toquecito de brillantina plateada, me encanta, la tenia reservada desde hace bastante tiempo para algo especial, y aqui esta.

     You can find the video to make this quilt in the Quilt in a day site, by Eleonor Burns. It has 12 blocks, I have used four different colour, in diferent shades. I have used the same fabric for the bias binding, external border of the top and external border of the back. The central fabric of each block has a little touch of glitter, I adore it. I was keeping this fabric for something special, and here it is.
